This remarkable tour offers a unique blend of history, culture, art, incredible sites and modernity. All of the above is featured in captivating Barcelona where our adventure begins. It continues as we explore the Moorish influences of Cordoba, a city that was reclaimed by the Christian world in the 13th century. We’ll experience a panorama of sights – parks, buildings, monuments, boulevards, architecture – all dating back 2,000 years in gorgeous Seville. A melting pot of different cultures and fascinating architecture is on display during our visit to Granada in the romantic Andalusia region of Spain. We end the tour in Spain’s extraordinary capital city, Madrid. This cosmopolitan gem is known for its grand avenues, parks, monuments, art collections, vibrant nightlife and outstanding cuisine. 1st Day: BARCELONA

Transfer to your hotel upon arriving at the airport in Barcelona. You’ll get together with your travel companions for a Welcome Dinner with wine at a local restaurant.

2nd Day: BARCELONA

We’ll take a morning tour of Barcelona, driving along the main avenues with their impressive Gaudi modernist buildings such as La Pedrera and Casa Batllὀ before continuing on to Montjuïc Park with its spectacular views of the city and harbor. We’ll also see the Olympic Ring, monument to Columbus and the Olympic Port before visiting the most important landmark in the city – Sagrada Familia, the incredible basilica created by Antoni Gaudi. We then board a catamaran and sail along the beautiful coastline of Barcelona, being welcomed onboard with music, a courtesy drink and a typical local tapa to start your special experience in Spain.

3rd Day: VALENCIA

We set off towards Peñiscola, where we can see the film locations of “El Cid” and “Game of Thrones.” We then continue on to Valencia, where we will taste a typical “horchata” (tiger milk) and explore the city, including the avant-garde cultural and architectural complex – Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias (City of Arts and Sciences).

4th Day: GRANADA

We drive towards Andalusia to reach Granada. This city, located at the foot of Sierra Nevada, between the Darro and Genil rivers, is one of the jewels of Andalusia. Here, the impressive Andalusian legacy is captured in the Alhambra, the palace and fortress of the Moorish monarchs of Granada. The name Alhambra, signifying in Arabic “the red,” is probably derived from the reddish colour of the tapia (rammed earth) of which the outer walls were built. Tonight we have a chance to learn how to dance flamenco before attending a dinner with a Flamenco show.

5th Day: SEVILLE

We tour the world famous Alhambra complex and Generalife Gardens. The Alhambra is situated in a locale of rare natural beauty. The plateau upon which it was built overlooks the Albaicin quarter of Granada’s Moorish old city. Picturesque courtyards, terraced gardens, pools and fountains of the Generalife gardens combine to make this an especially enchanting experience. Then, among olive trees and white villages, we continue on to Seville, the capital of Andalusia. Tonight we are treated to a traditional Andalusian dinner

6th Day: SEVILLE

We’ll take a morning tour of the Andalusian capital, Seville. Three cultures – Moorish, Christian, Jewish – have contributed greatly to the history of this beautiful city. We’ll enjoy the lively atmosphere, narrow streets, cafes and plazas that make up Seville as we see Maria Luisa Park, Plaza de España, the Cathedral and its famous La Giralda Bell Tower, the Barrio Santa Cruz – the former Jewish quarter of the medieval city and the magnificent Royal Alcázar.

7th Day: MADRID

We depart for Cordoba, the ancient capital of the caliphate. Upon arriving in Cordoba we’ll enjoy a tour of its impressive mosque as well as the narrow streets of the Jewish Quarter. The afternoon has us driving through the natural border of Despeñaperros and along La Mancha, Don Quixote’s land until we arrive in our destination for the next two evenings, Madrid.

8th Day: MADRID

Discover the beauty of Madrid during our tour in which we see, among other things, the Barrio de la Moreria, the Hapsburgs District, Puerto del Sol, Plaza de la Villa, and Plaza Mayor, as well as the more contemporary areas such as Gran Via, Castellana and Salamanca. We’ll also get to taste the typical Madrid-style snack – chocolate with churros. A Farewell Dinner of regional favorites highlights this delightful day.

Following breakfast we check out of our Madrid hotel.
